About This Guide

The first thing to note is that this is not a blog, it is a guide. A guide to help you decide where to go for lunch in London. It wouldn't look out of place as a printed pamphlet that one might carry around with oneself when on the streets of London. However we live in a modern world where e-guides rule our lives so that is the format I have chosen. Plus who can manage to carry around a leaflet as well as an Ipad, smartphone and Kindle.

Ok now some rules so you understand the selection process. Rules make everything more enjoyable.
  1. Establishments that have more than 5 outlets within London will not be featured.
  2. Must serve takeaway.
Ok so not many rules but enough to keep us all in tow.

Now a little on the rating system. I've kept it simple, 1-5, it's a system that's stood the test of time. Things taken into account when judging are: quality of food, variety and service. Below is a list to help you gauge exactly what the ratings mean. Oh, I may also chuck in a 1/2 mark here and there if I deem it necessary.
  1. Not worth your time.
  2. Its edible and it fills a whole but not memorable.
  3. Good tasty food, let down perhaps by service or variety.
  4. Excellent quality, worth queueing for.
  5. This is as good as it gets. Faultless.
I have also included a handy pound sign system to show what sort of value for money you're getting. It takes into account just food, no drinks or pudding, but it must be a substantial lunch, enough to tide you over till dinner time or maybe a sneaky late afternoon snack. Of course you could spend more but you needn't. The use of  brackets denotes that said establishment is half way between the two. i.e ££(£). Its a very simple method.

£  Everyday value - Change from a fiver
££  Once or twice a week won't hurt - A few pennies over a fiver
£££  Friday treat - Take £6 plus with you.

That is all. Begin. Learn. Discover. And stop bloody queueing in St Anne's Court for that below average Chinese food.
